EVALUATION CAPACITY BUILDING
Evaluation is the cornerstone of decision making, and we at Two Roads Consulting excel at helping organizations such as yours with evaluation capacity building (ECB). We draw on an ECB framework put forth by Taylor-Powell and Boyd (2008), which holds that ECB goes beyond training to include technical assistance, collaborative evaluation projects, mentoring, and coaching.

TRC works with your program staff to specify program outcomes and examine current evaluation tools and methods (if any exist). From that we recommend evaluation tools and develop an analysis plan. Evaluation tools often include surveys and complementary methods such as formative or embedded assessment. We remain available after your data collection to advise on data analysis and interpretation.

RESEARCH
The research conducted by TRC has been mainly in the realm of evaluation methodology focusing on embedded assessment. This underused evaluation/research method is relevant for citizen science and advances both understanding and practice for the broader informal STEM learning field.
