OUR PROJECTS
ALLIANCE FOR WATERSHED EDUCATION OF THE DELAWARE RIVER
We are currently conducting an evaluation of AWE, a collaborative of 23 environmental education centers along the Delaware River watershed trying to share programming and messaging. To help the Alliance set and achieve its goals, this evaluation includes development of both quantitative and qualitative tools, training in the use of these tools, and evaluation capacity building among all 23 centers.
STREAMLINE EMBEDDED ASSESSMENT
Our NSF-funded project, Streamline EA, is working across the citizen science landscape to develop, validate, and field-test methodologically rigorous embedded assessment (EA) processes for general use. We strive to create assessments that are performance-based, broadly applicable, and yet authentic to the projects they may serve. To that end, Streamlining EA works closely with 10 citizen science project leaders to develop EAs that will assess the science inquiry skills of volunteers.
STREAM STEWARDS AT THE NATURE CONSERVANCY
We are currently conducting an evaluation of the Stream Stewards Program implemented by The Nature Conservancy in Wilmington, Delaware. This evaluation called for developing a logic model and innovative evaluation tools such as embedded assessment and more traditional tools such as focus group guides and surveys. The next phase of the evaluation will include data collection and analysis and a report of findings to stakeholders.
NATIONAL AUDUBON SOCIETY CLIMATE INITIATIVE
The National Audubon Society engaged Dr. Becker-Klein in spring 2019 to evaluate several program outcomes. The evaluation applied a mixed-methods approach, including document review and interviews with various participant groups. The evaluation identified the positive outcomes of the program as well as key challenges.
